MY NAME IS KHAN

In “My Name is Khan”, SRK is playing the character of Rizvan Khan. This person suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome, which is an autism disorder and is characterised by difficulties in social interaction and behaviour. Half of the film is a true story based on a couple’s life in LA. Karan bought the rights of the story from them.

For the role, Shah Rukh has to gain weight, and that is what he is doing currently. “The role requires me to have a fuller look,” said the actor who has plunged into his character already and is doing research on autism to see how complex these individuals are. “I am reading, watching documentaries, meeting people who are affected by autism and doctors who deal with it. It’s very unnerving and I salute parents who bring up children with any disorders,” said SRK.

Shibani Bhatija, the screenplay writer of the My Name Is Khan, has SRK detained in LA as a suspected terrorist because he is a Muslim and his impairment makes his behaviour suspicious.

3 idiots

Story - 3 Idiots

The film is rumored to be loosely based on the famous novel, Five Point Someone by Chetan Bhagat, though denied by Hirani.

Two best friends (Madhavan and Sharman) go aboard on a quest for a long lost buddy. On their journey, they stumble upon a long forgotten bet, a wedding that they must crash, and then a funeral that goes out of control.

As they make their way through the terrifying landscape, a new journey begins: their soulful journey through the memory lane and the story of their beloved friend. A friend who’s an irrepressible free-thinker Rancho (Aamir Khan), who in his inimitable way, touched and changed their lives.

It's a story about their hostel days that swings between Rancho's romance with the spirited Pia (Kareena Kapoor), and his clash with an oppressive mentor, Viru Sahastrabudhhe (Boman Irani).

And then one day, all of a sudden Rancho vanishes. The friend, who influenced and inspired them to think creatively and independently, even as the conformist world called them three idiots, had disappeared. And what happens from hereon is a mystery. They do finally, in misty mountains of unparalleled beauty, find the key to the secret.

Kajol, who was supposed to play another lead role in the film will be making a special appearance.

Three Idiots is a laugh-riot that talks about the most important of human pursuits, self-actualization. The film is an insight into the life of these three IIT students, a comedy of ideas and promises to offer untamed entertainment.

The film is produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra, who has a long time association with Hirani and has produced all his previous directorial ventures, whilst Abhijat Joshi and Raju Hirani have written the screenplay. The film's soundtrack is composed by Shantanu Moitra and the lyrics penned by Swanand Kirkir
